Max Holloway vs. Calvin Kattar

Max looked fast and strong with his strikes. Max was throwing in volumes so Kattar was limited with his output as he was covering up a lot. However, when Kattar did land, he left damage on the face of his opponent. Kattar did land a solid counter right hand with less than a minute to go. Kattar started to come alive in the middle of the second round and landed some good combos. When Kattar was able to throw first, he landed big. Holloway fired up with two minutes to go with combos of his own. Holloway stunned Kattar then he poured it on up against the fence. This busted open Kattar, who managed to recover and clinched, but Holloway continued to throw leather. Holloway rocked him with a head kick as the second round came to a close. The third round saw Holloway continue where he left off. Kattar seemed to have moments where he would fire up and land some decent shots but then Holloway would answer with twice as many strikes. Holloway never slowed down and destroyed his face with elbows up against the fence, but Kattar never stopped throwing strikes back. Eventually, the bell sounded and somehow Kattar survived. The toughness of Kattar shined through brightly. Kattar had some moments in the fifth round, but Max was talking trash. Holloway walked away with the decision win.

Matt Brown vs. Carlos Condit

They had a feeling out process early before Brown scored a takedown right outside the first minute of the first round. Brown had a cut when he got the takedown as he scraped his face against the fence. Brown worked him over with strikes from the ground while Condit tried to get up, but couldn’t. Round two saw Brown rush out and clinch with him up against the fence. Condit got a takedown with a foot sweep, but Brown got back up only to be taken back down. Brown got hit in the nuts to start off the third round. Brown tagged him with a right hand before going for a takedown. Condit sweeped it and took his back, but Brown shaked him off. Condit worked him over with strikes, but Brown got back to his feet. Brown scored a takedown of his own. The judges gave the win to Condit by unanimous decision.

Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Li Jingliang

There was a feeling out process early. Ponzinibbio was looking to counter strike while Li was throwing in volume, but didn’t have the range down in the first round. Li did work over the lead leg of Ponzinibbio with kicks. Li flattened him with a counter left hook.

Alessio Di Chirico vs. Joaquin Buckley

Buckley came out aggressive and threw big shots. Out of nowhere, Alessio demolished him with a head kick that dropped Buckly right away then followed up with some shots on the ground.

Punahele Soriano vs. Dusko Todorovic

These guys came out firing right away. Soriano kept throwing head kicks, but missed. Soriano tagged him with a big punch up against the fence. Soriano dropped him with a big right hand then chased him around the octagon with follow up shots. Dusko went for an armbar, but Soriano got up. Soriano dropped him again moments later. Dusko had a cut on his right cheek. Dusk’s mouthpiece was stuck in between the fence and mat. Soriano landed a flurry and that was the fight.
