Alice Pereira looked to deliver a statement at UFC Vegas 122, and she did so during the prelims with a doctor’s stoppage win over Darya Zheleznyakova.
Pereira’s power and striking were on display early, as she managed to wobble Zheleznyakova over the course of the five minutes. Pereira’s striking then led to her securing a takedown, working her way into mount and unloading significant ground-and-pound.
The flurry resulted in Zheleznyakova being busted open, and Zheleznyakova elected to not continue, giving Pereira a first-round finish.
After dropping her UFC debut last year, Pereira has now won back-to-back fights. Pereira competed in April, scoring a second-round finish of Hailey Cowan.
