Bilal Hassan and Nilson Rojas put on a clinic in the UFC Shanghai main card opener, with Hassan gaining more attention thanks to a second-round knockout.
Hasan opened up the action with a kick-focused attack, connecting consistently to Rojas’ body and head. Hasan grounded Rojas and scored some strong ground-and-pound, but Rojas survived it and showed some signs of life.
This continued for Rojas in the early part of round two, as he worked combinations and showed more aggressive pacing. But one right hand from Hasan ended it all, connecting on the button to fold Rojas and score the victory.
Hasan now moves to 10-0 (1 NC). This marked the former CFFC flyweight champion’s UFC debut since defeating Mridul Saikia on Dana White’s Contender Series to earn a UFC contract.
