Despite being on a losing streak and matched up with a top prospect, as well as missing weight, Brendson Ribeiro would not be denied, as he submitted Felipe Franco in just under two minutes.
The two felt each other out over the course of the first 90 seconds. Franco went in for a takedown while getting Ribeiro against the fence. But Ribeiro saw that Franco left his neck open when shooting in, resulting in him quickly locking up a guillotine choke.
Franco’s takedown resulted in the choke tightening, as Ribeiro rolled through and kept sinking in the choke, resulting in Franco submitting.
Ribeiro was on a four-fight losing skid and entered this fight 2-6 since earning a UFC contract. His last win came in March 2025, when he submitted Diyar Nurgozhay.
