Conor McGregor inserted himself into UFC Freedom 250 from the outside on Sunday night, replying to a TKO Group photo of Roman Reigns attending the White House event with a single word: “Who?”
TKO Group, the parent company of both the UFC and WWE, posted a photo of Reigns using his on-screen nickname, “The OTC.” McGregor’s one-word quote post landed with the weight of a decade of history behind it — the two first exchanged words in 2016 when McGregor called out the entire WWE roster and Reigns fired back that the Irishman was “the size of my leg.”
Reigns was not McGregor’s only target on the night. He also posted that the UFC had not capitalized enough on platforming its own athletes, and questioned the heavy boxing presence at cageside while noting he did not recognize many of the figures who were visibly prominent throughout the event, despite never having competed in MMA. The card’s guest list included Reigns, Triple H, Nick Khan, and Shane McMahon on the WWE side.
McGregor returns from his 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier next month at UFC 329, where he faces Max Holloway — a fighter he beat back in 2013. He also appeared in a virtual interview segment during the Freedom 250 broadcast to take aim at Holloway, ensuring his name stayed in the conversation on the UFC’s biggest night even without throwing a punch.
