Dana White Shuts Down Sean Strickland Contract Talk

Dana White says there’s nothing wrong with Sean Strickland’s UFC contract.

White was asked about Strickland’s complaints after UFC Edmonton on Saturday. His answer matched what he said earlier in the week after Dana White’s Contender Series.

There’s absolutely no issues with his contract. He just signed his contract in May.

Strickland, the UFC middleweight champion, aired his frustrations on X last week.

I gotta be honest, unless things change with the UFC, I’m kinda over it. McGregor makes 30 million to fight for 30 seconds and they don’t want to pay us a fraction of it. Contemplating just going to 205, knocking out my contract and scrapping with Jake Paul. That sounds fun.

He added that leaving the title behind was on the table.

The thought of just giving up my belt, going to 205 and speed running my contract to fight Jake and make what these guys are making sounds pretty d*** appealing.

Strickland (31-7) won the title back with a split decision over Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328 in Newark, New Jersey, in May. The UFC has not announced his first defense.
