Eliezer Kubanza continued his rise up the PFL welterweight rankings in the final prelim of PFL Chicago, brutally and quickly finishing Trey Waters.
He then used his post-fight interview to call out champion Thad Jean, saying they should give the fans an exciting title fight they deserve.
“Thad Jean! You said you are watching, champ! Can you see me?!?” Kubanza said in his post-fight interview. “I am the next champ!”
Kubanza landed a strong body kick before scoring a brief takedown, bringing the pressure to Waters quickly. After one left hand landed, a second left hook dropped Waters.
Another left hook saw another knockdown, and that got Kubanza the quick win he was looking for.
Kubanza has now won three straight since his sole loss, which took place on Dana White’s Contender Series. He made his PFL debut at PFL Washington D.C., submitting Chris Mixan.
