The striking of Hector Santiago was on full display in his UFC debut at UFC Shanghai, helping him secure a knockout victory over Lawrence Lui during the preliminary card.
Santiago controlled the action early, coming forward by working combinations to the body and head. Lui was able to work Santiago with low kicks, but Santiago’s boxing proved to be too much.
Santiago went back to work, landing combinations again before dropping Lui with a strong right hand. Follow-up shots quickly brought an end to the fight.
Santiago is now 7-1 and has won three straight.
