How Dana White Responded to Joaquin Buckley's Snub

Dana White had some fun with a question about Joaquin Buckley.

Buckley reportedly refused to shake White’s hand at Friday’s ceremonial weigh-ins. A day later, Mike Malott knocked him out with a knee in the second round of the UFC Edmonton main event.

White was asked about the snub at the post-fight press conference. He said fighters all handle fight week differently and get “pretty nasty” close to the weigh-ins, so he doesn’t take it personally.

When the reporter asked again, White had a different answer.

As soon as he lost, I told Hunter [Campbell], ‘Cut him.’

He quickly made clear he was kidding.

I’m f***ing joking.

White added that he has no issue with Buckley.

The loss was Buckley’s third straight, following decisions against Kamaru Usman and Sean Brady. He fell to 21-9. Malott has now won five straight.

Buckley addressed the defeat in a video posted after the fight.

Fight didn’t go my way. Not at all.

He said he plans to get back to work and keep fighting.
