Julia Polastri Blasts Xiong Jingnan With Head Kick KO

Julia Polastri delivered one of the scariest knockouts we’ve seen in the Octagon this year, landing a brutal head-kick knockout of Xiong Jingnan during the UFC Shanghai preliminary card.

“We really made this camp the best one, and I’m really glad with the result,” Polastri said in her post-fight interview.

The two started exchanging early, with both seemingly aiming for the body. Xiong started to work her combinations well until Polastri landed a combination of her own, soon followed by a clinch and knees.

Xiong looked to get her hands going again, but a feint from Polastri resulted in Xiong leaving herself open for a devastating head kick that dropped her unconscious.

Polastri, unfortunately, is ineligible for a win bonus, as both she and Xiong missed weight for this fight.

Polastri is now 3-3 in the UFC since earning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023. She now bounces back from a loss to Talita Alencar in April.
