In one of the best highlight come-from-behind victories this year in the Octagon, Modestas Bukauskas went from nearly being stopped to scoring a TKO victory over Oumar Sy during the UFC Paris prelims.

Sy opened the fight by trying to score a takedown, finding it after using his kicks to help set it up. Sy then landed a barrage of ground-and-pound, coming a second or two away from scoring a late first-round finish.

Bukauskas, however, managed to survive and strengthened his defense against Sy’s wrestling attempts. Bukauskas managed to reverse position at times, and the momentum completely changed with a damaging knee that landed on Sy, who had his back to the cage.

Bukauskas continued to control the action and land strikes, landing another knee that dropped Sy. Some follow-up shots led to the referee stoppage and a big win for “The Baltic Gladiator.”

Bukauskas has now won two straight and six of his last seven.
