Paddy Pimblett’s Ilia Topuria Stool Claim Gets Debunked

ByAndrew RavensMixed Martial Arts Journalist

Paddy Pimblett’s latest troll job just fell apart.

On Monday, “The Baddy” claimed on Instagram that he’d dropped $13,700 on a UFC auction site to buy the stool Ilia Topuria sat on when he lost his lightweight title to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250. It was the stool Topuria slumped on after the fight was waved off following the fourth round. Pimblett called it a “collector’s item,” posting a grinning photo alongside a red UFC stool, an obvious dig at his rival.

There was just one problem: he never bought it.

A Topuria superfan named Jessica quickly posted a video saying she was the one who actually purchased the stool, and she had the receipts to prove it. Jessica shared a shipping confirmation email from the Shop app and an online receipt with an order number, showing a final price of $18,272, well above the figure Pimblett floated.

It was me. I bought it, not Paddy, not anybody else. Big Ilia fan, and I kind of purchased it on purpose, so that Paddy and nobody else could actually buy it and use it against him. But here we are.

So Pimblett either grabbed a different stool or simply ran the bit anyway. Either way, the internet did what it does and called his bluff. The troll attempt fits the long-running needle between Pimblett and Topuria, a grudge match plenty of fans still want to see made.
