Jorge Masvidal Names The UFC's Biggest Fight

Jorge Masvidal calls Paddy Pimblett vs. Ilia Topuria the biggest fight in the UFC and wants the winner to face lightweight champion Justin Gaethje next.

Jorge Masvidal knows which fight he would book first.

Speaking on the Double Coverage podcast, in a clip shared on X, the former UFC star said Paddy Pimblett vs. Ilia Topuria tops the list.

Another fight that’s probably just as big or bigger is Paddy versus Ilia. I think that’s the biggest fight in the UFC. Paddy’s reach is f—— insane. Ilia’s reach is insane.

They have all of Europe. Ilia has South America, Central America because of his Spanish roots… Paddy’s name goes a long way. Those two guys fight. I mean, 70,000 person stadium is easy to fill for them.

Masvidal would then have the winner face the champion.

I would go with that Paddy Ilia fight and then the winner of that fights Justin Gaethje… I don’t know what Gaethje is going to do but I’m hoping that the money is so much that he just has to stay around.

Both men have lost to Gaethje. He beat Pimblett for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324 in January, then upset Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 in June to become undisputed champion. Pimblett has since rebounded with a 52-second submission of Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 329 in July.

Gaethje has since said injuries will keep him out until 2027, and his future is uncertain. Alexander Volkanovski has pitched a fight with him as part of his own retirement plan.

Pimblett and Topuria have feuded for years. After UFC 324, Topuria said it was “basically impossible” for Pimblett to gain the skills to reach the division’s elite.
