Nicolle Caliari has landed in trouble ahead of UFC 333 after missing the women’s strawweight limit by a significant margin, forcing her fight against Iasmin Lucindo to proceed at catchweight.

Caliari weighed in at 120.5 pounds on Friday morning in Abu Dhabi, coming in 4.5 pounds above the 116-pound non-title limit. The Brazilian will forfeit 30% of her fight purse to Lucindo as a penalty, but their preliminary-card matchup will go ahead as scheduled.

Nicolle Caliari Misses Weight By 4.5 Pounds At UFC 333

Caliari’s weight miss was the only setback during the official weigh-ins for Saturday’s event. The 29-year-old was the sole fighter among the 28 competitors who stepped onto the scale to miss weight, leaving the promotion with 14 fights still scheduled for the card.

Lucindo successfully weighed in at 115 pounds, putting her within the strawweight limit. With Caliari unable to make the required weight, the bout will now take place at catchweight, and Lucindo will receive 30% of her opponent’s purse.

The missed limit comes as an unfortunate development for Caliari, who made her UFC debut in 2025. A 4.5-pound miss is substantial for a strawweight contest, particularly when the non-title allowance is only one pound above the division’s 115-pound limit.

The UFC 333 main event is officially set after both featherweights successfully made the championship limit. Reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski weighed in at 144.5 pounds, while undefeated challenger Movsar Evloev registered 145 pounds.

The co-main event also passed the weigh-in stage without any issues. Bantamweight champion Petr Yan and former titleholder Merab Dvalishvili both weighed 135 pounds for their trilogy bout, with “No Mercy” looking to defend the belt he reclaimed in their December 2025 rematch.
