Patricio Pitbull can finally say he has a UFC moment, as he battered Doo-ho Choi in a brief striking war, scoring a first-round finish at UFC 331.
“I’m sorry about my last three fights,” Pitbull said. “The pressure here is bigger. But now I feel I am comfortable.”
The two traded strikes from the beginning, both landing power while coming out with aggression. But Pitbull found success with body shots, mixing things up with punches to the head. Pitbull continued to find the mark, and his pressure eventually became overwhelming.
The former Bellator champion landed a clean right hand that froze Choi during the middle of the round, with a barrage of follow-up shots bringing him to the canvas and the fight to an end.
Pitbull entered this fight 1-2 in the Octagon, with all three bouts going the distance. His lone victory in that span came against Dan Ige, along with losses to Yair Rodriguez and Aaron Pico.
