Terence Crawford says Conor McGregor’s claim that Turki Alalshikh offered both men $200 million for a series of crossover fights was fabricated, calling the reported offer “cap” and saying no serious proposal was ever put to him.
Crawford spoke to Yahoo Sports.
That was a lie. It was cap. It wasn’t never no $200 million offer. They asked me would I do it, and I told them, ‘You ain’t about to be kicking on me, Conor.’ We were on FaceTime, and I did tell him that. But they didn’t say, ‘Hey, you got $200 million. You fight him in boxing and MMA.’ That was never the case. He’s making up numbers, in my head.
Crawford added that had a genuine offer been presented to him, he would be able to confirm it — but nothing concrete ever came through.
McGregor had previously claimed Alalshikh offered the pair $200 million for a boxing match and an MMA bout, with Crawford declining. Crawford and McGregor have been engaged in a public back-and-forth since UFC Freedom 250, where Crawford criticized Ilia Topuria’s loss and McGregor jumped to Topuria’s defense.
McGregor faces Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11 in Las Vegas.
