UFC Announces UFC 336 in Toronto on January 30

The UFC’s first numbered card for the 2027 calendar year is now set, as the promotion will return to the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on January 30 with UFC 336.

The promotion confirmed the news before the UFC Edmonton co-main event, alongside posts made for social media.

This will mark the UFC’s first visit to Toronto since UFC 297, which saw Dricus Du Plessis defeat Sean Strickland to become UFC middleweight champion and Raquel Pennington defeat Mayra Bueno Silva to become women’s bantamweight champion.

It is unknown whether there will be any Fight Night events in January to serve as the UFC’s first event in 2027 before UFC 336, though it is likely.

With Islam Makhachev previously expressing a desire to fight one more time before Ramadan starts in February, rumors have circulated that UFC 336 will be headlined by him defending the UFC welterweight championship.

Potential challengers have included Michael Morales and Carlos Prates. Recent reports have circulated that Makhachev will defend against Prates, while Morales faces off with Shavkat Rakhmonov, potentially on the same card.

Makhachev retained the title against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 in August.
