Rafael Fiziev vs. Manuel Torres – Lightweight Main Event
Fiziev was once a ranked lightweight on a six-fight win streak. Things, however, have not been the same since his first encounter with Justin Gaethje. Since then, he’s lost four of five, most recently getting stopped by Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 325. His sole win in that span came at last year’s UFC Baku event, where he defeated Ignacio Bahamondes.
Torres has been on a run in the Octagon, going 5-1 since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. All of his UFC fights have ended in first-round finishes, including his back-to-back bonus-earning finishes of Drew Dober and Grant Dawson.
The UFC Baku co-main event will feature Shara “Bullet” Magomedov and Michel Pereira in a middleweight matchup.
Magomedov is 5-1 in the UFC, coming into this bout off a win over Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC Abu Dhabi last July. Pereira last fought at UFC Houston in February, scoring a split decision win over Zachary Reese and snapping a three-fight losing skid.
