UFC has added a significant middleweight fight to its October schedule, with Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan set to meet in a five-round main event.
Allen and Duncan will headline UFC Vegas 122 on October 10 at the Meta APEX. The matchup brings together two ranked middleweights carrying strong winning streaks, with both men looking to push themselves closer to the championship picture.
For Duncan, the fight will also mark a career first. The former Cage Warriors middleweight champion has never previously headlined a UFC event.
Brendan Allen Looks To Continue Resurgence
Allen enters the matchup ranked No. 5 in the UFC middleweight division and riding a three-fight winning streak. Two of those victories, against Edmen Shahbazyan and Marvin Vettori, earned Fight of the Night honors.
The 30-year-old has been close to the title conversation before. Allen put together seven consecutive victories beginning in 2022 before his momentum was halted by Nassourdine Imavov. He then suffered another setback against Anthony Hernandez.
Allen has since rebuilt his position and now finds himself within striking distance of the top of the division again. A convincing win in October could strengthen his argument for an even bigger fight.
Duncan, however, arrives with plenty of momentum of his own.
Christian Leroy Duncan Gets First UFC Main Event
Duncan currently sits at No. 11 in the middleweight rankings and has won five fights in a row since losing a decision to Gregory Rodrigues in 2024.
His latest victory was also his biggest. Duncan defeated former UFC middleweight title challenger Jared Cannonier in the co-main event of UFC Oklahoma City in July, giving him the kind of established name he needed on his résumé to move further up the rankings.
Now he’ll get that opportunity against Allen.
UFC Vegas 122 currently has several other fights scheduled or rumored, including Lupita Godinez vs. Ketlen Souza, Andre Fili vs. Kai Kamaka III and Julius Walker vs. Gerald Meerschaert.
But Allen vs. Duncan will sit at the top of the card, with two middleweights carrying serious momentum into a fight that could reshape the division’s pecking order.
