Darren Till has taken another shot at Daniel Cormier, accusing the UFC Hall of Famer of showing favoritism toward certain fighters during his commentary duties.
Till’s latest criticism comes after Dominick Reyes called out the UFC Hall of Famer following his knockout victory over Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 333. The former UFC welterweight title challenger joined Reyes in questioning Cormier’s impartiality, suggesting the commentator’s close ties to certain fighters influence his analysis.
The Liverpool native has previously expressed frustration with Cormier. Till took issue with “DC” defending Usman Nurmagomedov after the fighter jumped over the cage following his brother Umar Nurmagomedov’s knockout loss to Song Yadong at UFC Shanghai.
Darren Till Claims He Can ‘See Right Through’ Daniel Cormier
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, “The Gorilla” insisted his criticism of Cormier was not rooted in personal animosity. However, he claimed the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion does not always offer unbiased commentary.
It’s not that I don’t like him. I just see right through his bullsh*t,” Till said. “I wouldn’t say it to his face, mind you, because he’s a f*cking animal of a fighter, but you can just see through his bullsh*t.
Any guy who’s got the second name ‘Magomedov,’ he’s just always biased. He’s just a company man. He doesn’t say what he should really say on his mind. I can smell that bullsh*t from over this corner of the world. F*ck off with your bullsh*t, mate. I’ve got no time for that whatsoever.
“DC’s” close relationship with Khabib Nurmagomedov has also been highlighted in discussions about his commentary. The two former fighters developed a strong friendship while training together at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California.
Till acknowledged Cormier’s formidable fighting credentials, admitting he would not be eager to confront the former champion face-to-face. Nevertheless, he remained adamant that Cormier’s commentary displays a bias toward fighters with the Nurmagomedov surname.
“The Gorilla” is not the only prominent figure to recently criticize Cormier’s commentary. Sean O’Malley and his coach, Tim Welch, also expressed displeasure with Cormier advocating for Song Yadong to receive a title shot. The parties later resolved their differences.
