Usman Nurmagomedov used Gable Steveson’s loss to take a shot at Jon Jones.
Steveson, who trains with Jones, was knocked out by Sean Sharaf in 12 seconds at UFC 331. Nurmagomedov posted about it within hours.

The jab fits a pattern. Jones has traded barbs with Daniel Cormier for years and more recently with Islam Makhachev. He also celebrated publicly when Usman’s brother Umar Nurmagomedov was knocked out by Song Yadong at UFC Shanghai.
Nurmagomedov had a softer line on Steveson himself, telling Red Corner MMA the problem is experience rather than ability.
He’s an Olympic champion, but not in MMA, isn’t he? He’s got no amateur experience. But as we all know, you have to have amateur experience as a fighter. One hundred fights at least. You have to feel it out, that stage, the MMA stage. And again, the very first punch landed, he didn’t feel the distance.
He does not doubt the wrestling.
Yes, he’s a good wrestler, an Olympic-level wrestler, but he’s not a fighter nor a striker. But that is mixed martial arts. That includes everything.
