Conor McGregor Brings Back ‘Mystic Mac’ Prediction For UFC 329 Fight

ByAndrew RavensMixed Martial Arts Journalist

Conor McGregor has revived his “Mystic Mac” prediction tradition at the UFC 329 pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas, calling his shot against Max Holloway with a promise of total elimination rather than a specific round.

Destruction. I’m going to destroy Max. I’m going to eliminate Max, the final opponent of mine still within the UFC ranks. All of my other opponents are gone. Max is the last one left, and on Saturday night, he gets eliminated for good.

McGregor kept the prediction free of a round or timeframe, departing from the more specific vintage Mystic Mac calls that became part of his UFC mythology, including his famous declaration that he would knock out Jose Aldo in under 60 seconds at UFC 194, which he fulfilled in 13. He also led the press conference crowd in a rendition of “Wonderwall” by Oasis, adding to the nostalgia of a fight week that has carried the feel of a throwback throughout.

McGregor returns Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas against Holloway in a welterweight rematch, 13 years after winning their first meeting at featherweight by unanimous decision. It is his first UFC appearance since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
