The UFC may have already pulled off its biggest spectacle yet, but Dana White apparently isn’t ready to stop dreaming even bigger.
Fresh off the historic UFC White House event and the promotion’s groundbreaking show at The Sphere in Las Vegas, UFC CEO White revealed that another ambitious event is already being discussed behind the scenes.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, White said UFC head of production Craig Borsari has come up with an idea that has caught his attention. However, the promotion still has plenty of groundwork to complete before anything becomes official.
“Now my head of production Craig Borsari is so cocky after he absolutely killed that event, we are talking about something right now that he came up with,” White said. “This was his idea and I love it.”
White stopped short of revealing what Borsari has proposed, but he confirmed that he could eventually announce the details on McAfee’s show if the event comes together.
“I have to do some more groundwork on it, and if I end up doing this, I’ll announce it here first,” White added.
The UFC has already pushed the boundaries of event production in recent years. UFC 306 at The Sphere delivered a completely immersive fight-night experience, while UFC Freedom 250 transformed the White House lawn into an unprecedented venue for a combat sports event.
Despite the success of both shows, White believes the White House spectacle will remain impossible to replicate.
“There will never be anything like the White House ever again,” White said. “That night, we already had high expectations for it. I was blown away. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever been a part of.”
White’s comments suggest the UFC is not necessarily trying to recreate the White House event, but instead find another way to deliver a spectacle unlike anything the promotion has staged before.
