Despite having no professional boxing experience, Henry Cejudo can now say he has a win in yet another combat discipline, defeating Javon Walton in their Misfits Boxing matchup.
Walton, who is about 20 years younger than Cejudo, had the speed advantage, something seen early on as he used his footwork and fast hands to take an early advantage over Cejudo. The former UFC champion would not be deterred, however, as he battled back over the course of the middle rounds to make things a more even fight.
Cejudo was soon able to get into a rhythm, landing strong hooks on Walton as the fight went on, while simultaneously doing a better job at avoiding Walton’s attacks.
All three judges gave three rounds to one fighter; however, two had it for Cejudo, while the remaining one had it for Walton.
Cejudo was originally scheduled to meet influencer Deen the Great before Deen withdrew from the bout.
Cejudo’s last bit of combat action took place in RAF last month, pulling off a shocker by pinning Merab Dvalishvili.
