Jackson McVey and Wes Schultz brought plenty of energy and action into their bout, but in the end, McVey was able to get the first-round finish at UFC Sacramento.
The two brought the action from the get-go, exchanging before Schultz took control with solid combinations, as well as a spinning backfist. Schultz threatened a guillotine at one point, but McVey was able to escape.
McVey took control from that point, working his own combinations and targeting the body. McVey landed a knee in the last minute of round one that crumbled Schultz, sealing the TKO win.
“The Moose” is now 7-2, and he improves to 2-2 in the UFC. He scored his first UFC win in his last bout, submitting Sedriques Dumas with a D’Arce choke.
