After a bit of a stumble at middleweight, Reinier de Ridder is off to a strong start at light heavyweight in the UFC, as he stopped Roman Dolidze in his UFC divisional debut at UFC Sacramento.
De Ridder controlled the action from the get-go, getting the fight to the ground following a clinch exchange between the two. Dolidze looked to attack from guard, but de Ridder kept himself in the top position, overwhelming Dolidze with his control and ground-and-pound pressure.
De Ridder eventually worked his way to the back, into side control, and then into full mount, where he proceeded to unload punches until the referee stepped in.
De Ridder, who won light heavywieght and middleweight gold in ONE Championship, won his first four UFC bouts, which included wins over Robert Whittaker and Bo Nickal, before falling short against Brendan Allen and Caio Borralho.
