Despite the hype being around Lerryann Douglas, Jamall Emmers made his own statement in upset fashion, scoring a first-round finish during the UFC Sacramento featured prelim.

“I’m tired of direspect,” Emmers said in his post-fight interview. “Gotta remember who I am; say my name…”

Emmers stayed on the outside as the two exchanged to start things off. Emmett started to work his jab, while Douglas focused on attacking with low kicks and focusing on body shots.

Emmers landed a solid knee to the body that marked the beginning of the end, following it up by dropping Douglas with a one-two. Emmers then rained down ground-and-pound to score the TKO.

After going 3-4 to start his UFC run, Emmers has now won three straight in the Octagon. He entered this fight off a decision win over Hyder Amil at UFC Vegas 111 last November.
