It was just about as flawless a performance as it could get for Shamil Gaziev, as he ran through Kennedy Nzechukwu at the UFC Sacramento preliminary card.
“I saw a bit of my old self in [him],” Gaziev said after the fight. “I’m going to take a bit of a rest, talk to my team…I’d love to see if I could fight one more time this year. I’d love to fight in Qatar.”
Gaziev looked to attack as Nzechukwu circled on the outside. After a right hand from Gaziev, Nzechukwu looked to land a couple of shots.
Not long after, however, Gaziev landed a single right hand that put Nzechukwu out cold on the mat.
Gaziev is now 4-3 in the Octagon, rebounding from a pair of losses to Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Brando Pericic.
