Sean O’Malley Has Very Specific Prediction For McGregor vs. Holloway

ByAndrew RavensMixed Martial Arts Journalist

Sean O’Malley is predicting Conor McGregor will land a 12-second knockout at UFC 329 on Saturday night, though he acknowledged the outcome is genuinely uncertain given Max Holloway’s durability at welterweight.

O’Malley shared his prediction on his YouTube channel, noting his heart and his head are telling him different things.

My heart’s telling me, Conor McGregor. My mind’s telling me Max Holloway goes in there, maybe gets cracked early, but at 170 I don’t know if he’s gonna be able to get put away. Conor’s gonna land those big shots; Conor is going to land that left hand. Guys like Max don’t really care to get hit. That might be dangerous for Max, but it might be dangerous for Conor to try to land that.

O’Malley is confident McGregor’s left hand will land early but questioned whether it will carry enough power at welterweight to stop a Holloway who is barely cutting any weight for the bout. He still settled on McGregor getting the finish, predicting the kind of early knockout that would echo McGregor’s 13-second stoppage of Jose Aldo.

McGregor and Holloway first fought at featherweight in 2013, with McGregor winning a decision. The rematch on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is a non-title welterweight bout.
