Bobby Green has clarified what he meant when he previously claimed to be homeless despite owning multiple properties, insisting that his unusual living situation is a choice driven by his desire to take care of those closest to him.
The 40-year-old UFC veteran previously revealed that he had been living out of his car despite owning nine houses, prompting confusion and concern from fans, as well as a blunt reaction from UFC CEO Dana White.
Bobby Green Explains Why He Is ‘Homeless’
Green explained during a recent livestream on KICK that there is an important distinction between being homeless and being without a permanent home of his own.
I am homeless, but I’m not houseless,” Green said. “I can go to anyone’s house. I just don’t have my home.
The lightweight veteran explained that his properties are occupied by friends and family, and he has deliberately prioritized making sure they have somewhere to live over securing a place for himself.
I put everybody else before me, just to make sure all my family was taken care of, my friends were taken care of,” Green said.
“King” admitted that he is willing to shoulder the inconvenience himself because he believes his loved ones would have a harder time finding stability on their own.
I’ll sit around, and I’ll bum it and do whatever we need to do, but everybody else is safe, and everybody else is cool,” he added.
Green made it clear that he does not view his situation as something to complain about, emphasizing that helping and providing for others is what matters most to him.
I want to help people, take care of people. That’s it.
“King” enters UFC 332 riding a four-fight winning streak, including three stoppages. He will look to extend that run when he faces Esteban Ribovics this Saturday in Salt Lake City.
