UFC Vegas 123: Francis Marshall missed weight by coming in two pounds over in his featherweight matchup with Dakota Hope, with the bout's status uncertain.

Francis Marshall was the only fighter to miss weight at the official UFC Vegas 123 weigh-ins, putting his scheduled featherweight matchup against Dakota Hope in doubt ahead of Saturday’s event.

Marshall registered 148 pounds on the scale, exceeding the non-title featherweight limit by two pounds. The promotion has yet to confirm whether the bout will proceed at a catchweight or how much of Marshall’s purse he could forfeit as a result.

Hope, meanwhile, accepted the matchup on short notice after Gaston Bolanos withdrew due to an eye injury. The replacement fighter successfully made weight at 145.5 pounds, leaving the decision over the contest’s status with the UFC.

Renato Moicano And Tom Nolan Make Weight For UFC Vegas 123 Main Event

The rest of the main card competitors successfully met their contracted weight limits, including lightweight headliners Renato Moicano and Tom Nolan.

Moicano stepped onto the scale at 156 pounds, while Nolan registered 155.5 pounds ahead of their five-round main event. The Brazilian will attempt to build on his victory over Chris Duncan in April, while Nolan enters the contest riding a five-fight winning streak.

Welterweights Randy Brown and Jacobe Smith also made weight at 170.5 pounds each for their co-main event matchup.

The remaining fighters successfully completed their weigh-ins, leaving Marshall as the only athlete to miss the mark among the 24 competitors scheduled for Saturday.
