A pair of fighters competing on the UFC Vegas 122 prelims, and potentially fighting for their UFC tenures, saw Francisco Prado earn a much-needed first-round finish over Ismael Bonfim.
Prado’s success started with his relentless pressure, trying to pin Bonfim to the fence while mixing in sharp striking. The punches seemed to get to Bonfim, as he used them to secure multiple takedowns and control the action on the mat.
A solid elbow from up top appeared to take Bonfim out, and Prado landed follow-up shots until the referee stepped in.
Prado is now just 2-5 in the UFC, but he stops a four-fight skid he was on entering this fight. His last win was a first-round finish of Ottman Azaitar in July 2023.
