Jose Henrique Souza Drops, Puts Out Jonny Parsons

Jose Henrique Souza had a notable size advantage against Jonny Parsons, and he made the most of that and his striking in the opening bout of UFC Vegas 124.

After a successful UFC debut earlier this year, Jose Henrique Souza now has his first finish in the Octagon, stopping Jonny Parsons in the first prelim bout of the evening at UFC Vegas 124.

Working with the size advantage, Souza used his distance early, working with his range and his jab while mixing in body shots. Parsons focused on leg kicks and tried to use those to mix in combinations, but Souza had significantly more offensive output.

Souza continued to find the mark from distance, landing a straight left and a series of punches. Then, a right uppercut and left hook dropped Parsons out cold on the mat.

Souza now improves to 10-1, with his sole loss coming from a Dana White’s Contender Series appearance in 2022. Souza made his UFC debut in May, scoring a split decision over Meng Ding.
