After rumors over the last month or two, a BMF title fight between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes is now official.
The fight, which will take place at lightweight, will serve as the main event of UFC 335. The announcement of the bout was made during the UFC 332 broadcast and was confirmed by the promotion on social media.
This will mark Oliveira’s first defense of the BMF title since defeating Max Holloway to claim it at UFC 326 in March. The former lightweight champion has won three of his last five fights.
Lopes comes into this fight off his finish of Steve Garcia at UFC Freedom 250 in June. His only losses in the UFC were his short-notice debut against Movsar Evloev and his two featherweight title shots against Alexander Volkanovski.
Co-headlining the card will be Alex Pereira vs. Sergei Pavlovich, which UFC CEO and President Dana White confirmed on Nina Drama’s livestream during UFC 332. It will be a five-round bout.
This will be Pereira’s second fight at heavyweight. He unsuccessfully faced Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 in an interim heavyweight title fight. Pavlovich has won three straight, most recently finishing Tallison Teixeira in under a minute in May.
Also confirmed for UFC 335 is a middleweight bout between rising contenders Joe Pyfer and Bo Nickal.
Pyfer has won four straight since his sole UFC loss. He’ll come into this bout off a finish of former champion Israel Adesanya at UFC Seattle in March. Nickal, meanwhile, most recently finished Kyle Daukaus at UFC Freedom 250.
