The undefeated Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev continues to impress as he quickly makes his way up the UFC’s light heavyweight rankings, taking out Nikita Krylov during the UFC 333 prelims.
Krylov looked to pressure from the get-go, getting Yakhyaev to the fence and working him over in close with punches. He busted open Yakhyaev’s nose, but he tried to answer Krylov back. Krylov pressed for a takedown, but Yakhyaev got him in trouble by countering with a guillotine attempt.
Against the fence and back on the feet, Yakhyaev, on Krylov’s back, landed a brutal knee that faceplanted Krylov. A couple of follow-up shots then sealed the TKO win for Yakhyaev.
Yakhyaev is now 11-0 as a pro, with just two fights going past the first round (one of those being a five-round decision). He is now 4-0 since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series last year.
