With the Dana White press conference blunder still fresh in minds, Alexander Volkov is asking what more he has to do for a title shot.
Volkov continued his winning ways at UFC 333, defeating Rizvan Kuniev.
Kuniev looked to pressure with his striking early, but Volkov’s power appeared to be too much. The leg kicks and shots to the body from Volkov appeared to fatigue Kuniev as the first round went on.
Kuniev closed the gap in the second round, as both men landed their fair share of power during that period. Volkov, however, seemed to control more of the action.
Kuniev tried for a strong flurry to start the final round, but he could not match Volkov’s pace again. Volkov, in fact, got Kuniev to the ground and to his back, nearly locking up a choke before the horn.
Volkov has now won seven of his last eight, with his only loss coming in a controversial split-decision loss to current champion Ciryl Gane at UFC 310.
