Austin Bashi had an easy night at the office during the UFC Vegas 124 prelims, quickly grounding and submitting the short-notice UFC debutant Carlos Calderon.
After a brief striking exchange between the two, Bashi scored a quick takedown near the fence, avoiding a guillotine counter from Calderon in the process. In a scramble, Bashi was quickly able to take Calderon’s back.
Just over a minute into the bout, Bashi locked in the rear-naked choke and scored the submission.
Bashi is now 2-2 since earning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024. He entered this fight off a loss to Jose Delgado in July.
