“The Lady Goat” continues to do her thing, as Bia Mesquita scored a first-round finish of Montserrat Rendon during the UFC Vegas 114 prelims.
Mesquita landed a solid right hand and left hand, rocking Rendon in the first 30 seconds of the fight. Mesquita managed to get Rendon to the mat and quickly jumped into mount. Mesquita landed some strong ground-and-pound while dominating on top, particularly with her hammerfists.
Two minutes into the bout, Rendon looked to escape and gave up her back. Mesquita quickly locked up a rear-naked choke and scored the submission.

Mesquita, a 10-time IBJJF world champion and five-time IBJJF No-Gi world champion, is now 7-0 in MMA, with finishes in the first or second round in all of her fights. She made her UFC debut at UFC Rio in October, submitting Irina Alekseeva.
After starting her MMA career 6-0, Rendon has now lost two of her last three. She is now 2-2 in the UFC, with wins over Tamires Vidal and Alice Pereira, as well as a loss to Darya Zheleznyakova.
