Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani Busts Up Farman Hasanov's Eye

Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani proved to be too much for Farman Hasanov, stopping his takedown efforts and landing some brutal striking that prompted a doctor's stoppage.

Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani has been looking for respect as he works his way up the ranks, and he put on a big showing against Farman Hasanov in the first fight of UFC Vegas 123’s main card.

Though Hasanov went in and scored a takedown early, he was unable to keep Lebosnoyani down. And not only did Lebosnoyani prove to be tough to keep down, but he quickly stopped Hasanov’s attempts and worked him over with his combinations.

Lebosnoyani turned up the pressure in round two, landing more overhands and combinations while Hasanov struggled to score takedowns and find any control time. Hasanov slowed significantly in the second round, and that condition, courtesy of JPL’s strikes, worsened during the third round.

Lebosnoyani continued to target the head to the point where one of Hasanov’s eyes was significantly beaten up, prompting the cageside doctor to call off the fight and giving JPL his first UFC finish.

Lebosnoyani is now 12-2 as a pro, including a 3-0 record since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series. He earned decision wins over Phil Rowe and Seok Hyeon Ko to start his UFC career earlier this year and now seeks higher-level competition in his next matchup, calling out Jake Matthews in particular.
