The number of UFC fighters who have made their promotional debut in a main event is far and few between. But Salahdine Parnasse is about to be the next name on that short list.
Parnasse, the former KSW featherweight and lightweight champion, has signed with the UFC. He will make his debut in the main event of UFC Paris on September 5, taking on Dan Hooker.
Ariel Helwani was the first to report the news, with the UFC confirming both pieces of information before the UFC Abu Dhabi main event.
Parnasse then posted a video to social media confirming the news.
Parnasse, at 23-2, will make his UFC debut in this fight after a successful U.S. debut on the MVP MMA card in May, where he scored a first-round finish of Kenneth Cross.
The 28-year-old held the KSW featherweight title twice and the lightweight title once. He surrendered the lightweight title earlier this year upon signing for MVP MMA.
Hooker has lost two straight, getting stopped by Benoit Saint Denis at UFC 325 this past January.
