Four fighters collected a combined $400,000 in bonuses following Saturday’s UFC Vegas 121 event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The UFC awarded $100,000 each to its four traditional bonus recipients: two Performance of the Night bonuses and the Fight of the Night.
The Fight of the Night honors went to the main event between Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos.
Rosas and Barcelos traded plenty over the course of 20+ minutes, with both men bleeding and rocking each other. The fourth round saw Barcelos come close to finishing the fight with a choke attempt.
Rosas got the win in the fifth round when a takedown attempt saw Barcelos go unconscious. Barcelos has been transported to a medical facility, and the MMA world awaits updates on his condition.
The performance bonuses went to Luis Hernandez and Yazmin Jauregui.
Taking a fight on just two days’ notice, and 11 days after winning a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, Hernandez landed an overhand on Sedriques Dumas before taking him down and locking him in a standing guillotine choke for the submission win.
Jauregui landed a right hand that wobbled opponent Vanessa Demopoulos in the first fight of the prelims, continuing to blitz Demopoulos and eventually scoring the first-round finish.
All four participants received an extra $100,000 for their accomplishments.
