Matt Brown Argues Conor McGregor May Be At His Best At UFC 329

Matt Brown says all the doubt and scrutiny surrounding Conor McGregor’s return at UFC 329 might actually bring out the best version of the fighter, arguing motivation born from having to prove people wrong is one of McGregor’s most powerful tools.

We’re not going to see the same Conor, that’s for sure. I don’t disagree with that at all. But there’s a couple things to take into account. Conor knows that this is it. This is his moment. If he doesn’t perform here, he’s done. He knows what’s at stake. He’s got to prove motherf*ckers wrong. And that motivation, that drive to prove people wrong — that’s when Conor McGregor is at his absolute best. When his back is against the wall. That’s what makes me think we might get the best Conor we’ve seen in years.

Brown had previously said for several years he did not believe McGregor would ever return, which makes the fighter’s appearance at UFC 329 noteworthy in itself. McGregor faces Max Holloway in a welterweight bout on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
