Michael “Venom” Page is no longer a UFC fighter.
UFC CEO and President Dana White confirmed the news when asked about MVP’s status during the post-fight press conference for Week 5 of Dana White’s Contender Series.
“That was his last fight on his contract,” White said. “I don’t think we’re signing him, no. What’s the confusion? I think it’s been pretty clear that he wasn’t being re-signed, and that he would be taken out of the rankings because he’s no longer on the roster.”
Hints of Page not being renewed came in on September 7, when media members were informed that Page was ineligible for the next round of UFC rankings. Prior to the announcement, Page was a ranked middleweight — and he previously has been in the welterweight rankings.
Page fought at UFC Paris this past weekend, scoring a decision over Nursulton Ruziboev. It was the last fight on Page’s UFC deal and was widely panned as being the worst fight of the event.
Page said in the lead-up to the fight that he knew he needed an exciting performance in Paris. After the fight, Page put out the idea of needing to change up his fighting style.
Page’s UFC tenure ends at 5-1 with a four-fight win streak. Page made his debut at UFC 299 with a win over Kevin Holland before a loss to Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303. His current win streak includes victories over Shara “Bullet” Magomedov, Jared Cannonier, Sam Patterson and Ruziboev.
Page did not score any finishes in his UFC run. His last finish came in his last fight in Bellator, defeating Goiti Yamauchi at Bellator 292 in March 2023.
