Movsar Evloev Breaks His Silence After First Loss

Movsar Evloev congratulated Alexander Volkanovski after suffering the first loss of his career at UFC 333, saying the featherweight champion was the better man.

Movsar Evloev took his first career loss with class.

Alexander Volkanovski stopped Evloev with six seconds left in the second round of the UFC 333 main event in Abu Dhabi to retain the featherweight title. Evloev landed three takedowns but couldn’t keep Volkanovski down.

Hours later, Evloev posted on X.

Alhamdulilah for everything. Today wasn’t my day. Everything is written by Allah, and I accept whatever he has planned for me.

Congratulations to Volk. He was the better man today. Thank you to the UFC for giving me the opportunity to fight for the title, and all my fans.

Evloev entered the fight 20-0. Before UFC 333, he made a comment about retirement that he later clarified, saying he meant he could move up to lightweight if things didn’t go his way.

He had also invited Arman Tsarukyan to come down to featherweight during fight week.
